USCG Sector NOLA contacted LTJG Kyle Jellison, NOAA SSC, on 01/08 at 21:55 in relation to a release of sodium hydroxide (solution 50%). A small quantity was released during cargo transfer operation at Mississippi River Mile Marker 161 - near Chatman Town, LA. A review of the fate and affects were requested.
